The smell of gum trees was intoxicating.
It filled the car's interior as a convoy of vehicles wound their way through the forest to the ceremony for Maddi & Kurt’s wedding.
It couldn’t have been a more appropriate place to hold a wedding on Australia Day.
Maddi & Kurt contacted me last year to photograph their wedding and in one of Maddi’s first emails she sent through a gorgeous little biography about the two of them. She told me they had known each other for 15 years and during high school they were best friends.
By Year 12 they were a couple.
Maddison & Kurt have a huge amount of respect for each other and on their wedding day in Warrnambool, they couldn’t have been more in love.
These guys are those fabulous creative types who love all the good things in life.... music, books, art. On a six-page note Kurt gave Maddison the morning of the wedding, he had written all the things he loved about her and his wishes for their future. The way he had written it was like music, and as a jazz musician, it couldn't have been more appropriate. The words were even lovelier. He later read this out as his speech and it was perfect.
Maddison & Kurt… thank you so much for allowing me to be part of your wedding day. I feel very lucky to have witnessed what will be the start of your happy life together.
Enjoy your sneak peek!
